Process modeling paradigms: an evaluation

چکیده
Software Process Modeling and systems for Software Process Management (PM) have recently drawn increased attention within the Software Engineering community. Yet there are no software process models generally recognized as adequate, nor process management systems put into practical use. Much more work has to be done. This paper identi es 6 themes considered the most interesting for the future research in this area. Around these themes, we summarize and evaluate di erent software process modeling paradigms and various PM systems, including EPOS { the one we have been working on. The paradigm, experience and ongoing research of EPOS are presented and discussed in more detail in the last two sections.

Inductive modeling of expert decision making in loan evaluation: a decision strategy perspective
There have been two dominant paradigms in understanding and modeling an expert's decision-making behavior: output analysis and process-tracing. While the two paradigms are complementary, they have not been used yet in a combined manner. This study extends the previous research work in the two paradigms to expert system research by (1) analyzing individual experts' decision strategies, (2) compa...
متن کاملEvaluation of the Humanity Research Paradigms based on Analysis of Human – Environment Interaction
As claimed by many behavioral scientists, designing should be based on the knowledge of interaction between human and environment. Environmental quality is also created in the context in which humans interact with their environment. To achieve such quality, designers should develop appropriate models for explaining this relationship, and this requires an understanding of human nature and the en...
متن کاملActivity-Centric and Artifact-Centric Process Model Roundtrip
Currently, two major process modeling paradigms exist: activitycentric and artifact-centric. They focus on different first class modeling constructs and therefore, they are eligible for different scenarios. Nevertheless, both paradigms compete for users raising the own capabilities over the other’s ones neglecting that both paradigms are compatible to each other such that one can transform one ...
متن کاملModeling and development of a decision support system for supplier selection in the process industry
This paper presents the development of a model based decision support system with a case study on solving the supplier selection problem in a chemical processing industry. For the evaluation and selection of supplier, the analytical hierarchy process (AHP) and grey relational analysis (GRA) were used. The intention of the study is to propose an appropriate platform for process industries in ...
